    Your instructions are the greatest!
My Zune was full of books I had already listened to and I was able to get them all off!
Now I can get new ones, or put more music on it.
    Thankyou so much!!!

    Wow, this is tedious.

Thank you! This was a big help.

In Overdrive there are no audiobooks but I have three on my Zune. Can you please help me!? I really want to get them off but those instructions don’t apply to me.

Thanks so very much for posting this. I had stumbled on this problem and yours was by far the most clear and clean solution.

Thank you so much. Yours was the only instructions that were detailed enough out there. Thanks again.

A slightly less tedious way of deleting ALL of the Overdrive audiobooks using the above method is to right click on the Overdrive folder (see last graphic) and select “delete”.

This eliminates all of the Overdrive files on your Zune.

Thank you. I never comment but I have been searching for these instructions for months. You are a lifesaver! Well, a Zune saver :)

Kameron, you can still delete stuff this way. Just get to “Screen 5 (the final step)” through any book. So, just download a book and get to the “Screen 5″ and delete anything that you want. I had the same problem and this is how I got rid of my books.

Well, I’m totally putting this (along with OVERDRIVE) on my next episode of ZUNEUSERS podcast! ^_^

It took me longer to find these simple instructions then to actually follow them. Thank you.

Thank you so much. I have an apple touch for music, and got a sansa fuse and a zune specifically for library audiobooks from overdrive. the fuse is really simple. the zune has been a lot more work. I got the zune for the larger capacity, but thought I would end up with every book I downloaded trapped forever on the player. thank you so much especially for the pics which are easy to follow.

@Sarah, what are you talking about? There is no such thing!

  • 14 Karen // Mar 9, 2009 at 8:51 pm

Thanks for the info! I’m a new owner to a Zune and am still learning! Great instructions, expecially from you, Sarah. Just what I needed!

works great. Except that many (most?!) books are in parts, some have many dozens of parts. this is very, extremely, VERY tedious, when you have a dozen or so books to delete and they each have dozens of parts.

It is possible to delete them all (I have not actuallly tried this, since I have many, many books I want to not delete) in one swoop. right-click the overdrive folder iitself/delete. :)

sure wish there was a more realistic way to do this. people with a 120 GIG zune and used overdrive, are probably people that have many books to manage as well. bah.

Thank you for the information, it was very helpful. You are a very intelligent person, I have tried and tried to delete my audiobooks.
    Thank You

Thank you so much!! I’ll be saving this site so I can refer to it again the next time!

I did this by selecting the overdrive folder and hitting delete. It took the audiobooks off my Zune but it also took the audiobooks setting off my Zune. Now, when I try to add books it won’t let me. Any suggestions? I’ve tried updating my Zune but it tells me I already have 3.1.
